The Friends of Priory are a supportive group of parents and staff who meet regularly and explore ways to add value to the school through a collaborative approach. Some of the ways we support the school are through fundraising and event organisation to benefit our students and enhance a sense of fun and community. Although funding is provided for essential facilities which are needed for the school, our aim is to help provide funding to support in much appreciated areas such as; eco projects, financial assistance with school trips, fun events for all year groups, music participation to name a few.
We are excited to launch our fundraising campaign for Priory Community School in 2025! Our target is to raise £5000 to fund essential resources across various subject areas, and we need your help to get there. Thanks to the generosity of our amazing school community, we’ve already raised £832—but we have more to go!
How Can You Help? There are plenty of ways you can get involved:
• Attend our upcoming fundraising events! From bake sales to sponsored activities, we have lots of fun and engaging events planned throughout the year.
• Make a donation: Whether it’s a one-off or regular contribution, every donation counts and brings us closer to our £5000 target.
• Volunteer your time: Offer your support at events or help spread the word—every little bit helps!
The funds raised will go towards vital resources that will benefit all of our students, ensuring they have everything they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond. Together, we can create an even stronger, more supportive environment for everyone at Priory.

Fundraising events so far this year
At Priory School, fundraising events have been an incredible success, bringing together students, teachers, and the local community in support of the Friends of Priory! These fun and engaging events have helped raise essential funds for school initiatives, all while creating lasting memories for everyone involved.
One of the highlights, was the Sponge the Teacher during our Community Breakfast Event in October, where students had the chance to throw sponges at their favourite (or maybe not-so-favourite!) teachers. The laughter and excitement were contagious, and it was a fantastic way for the whole school to get involved and contribute to the cause.
The Christmas Concert was another fantastic event, featuring a refreshments table, raffle and tombola that added extra fun to the festive season. The generous donations from local businesses and families, coupled with the festive spirit, made for a truly joyful occasion. Prizes were eagerly awaited, and the evening was filled with music, celebration, and community spirit.
In addition, a Year 8 Raffle was organized, offering students and their families the chance to win fantastic prizes while supporting a great cause. The enthusiasm surrounding the raffle was palpable, and it was a brilliant way to encourage school-wide participation.
16 maps have been donated ahead of the upcoming DofE expeditions!
On Friday 28th March, the Friends of Priory organised a quiz night at Weston Cricket Club raising over £330! Well done to Miss Rees who was a fantastic quiz master!
Parents/carers and students all got involved in the quiz followed by a raffle which included a free MOT, a night away, as well as vouchers for Mendip Activity Centre, Court Farm etc.
Keep an eye out for details of another quiz later on in the year!
